Day 3 – Yokohama Minatomirai – Sakuragicho – Cup Noodles Museum
It’s Yokohama day! We took the train going to Yokohama. It was around 30-40mins travel from Tokyo.
We arrived at Yokohama early, and since we were so hungry, we bought our favorite “fast” and instant cheap breakfast and ate at one corner hehe–onigiri from Family Mart and hot coffee from vendo (oh, vendos are all around in Japan..I love it!).
From Yokohama station, we took the local train to go to Minatomirai Station. From here on, we took a loooot of pictures (to make up for the last two rainy days, hehe).
MINATOMIRAI and SAKURAGICHO
We walked and took pictures, walked and walked and took pictures again, and saw the Queens’s tower, The Landmark Tower, Nippon Maru, and Yokohama Cosmoworld.
The Landmark Tower is a symbol of Yokohama, 70 stories with adjoining landmark plaza. This is about 5minutes walk to Sakuragicho Station, or Minatominrai Station. We did not go in the Sky Garden here, since we are pressed for time.
Sail Training Ship NIPPON MARU was constructed in 1930 as a training ship for cadets. That time, the Yomokahama Port Museum was closed, so we just walked around (and took pictures).
We walked around the Minato Mirai area. At Yokohama Cosmoworld, Jaycee posed for a picture the same as a picture of him taken here 8yrs ago 🙂 This is an amusement park with a big ferris wheel and a large clock built at the center of the wheel. There’s a roller coaster and water slide as well.
We ate lunch at World Porter’s mall. I had a very yummy Niku Udon (plain big noodles with pork strips), and Jaycee had a big bowl of ramen and gyoza.
After our feeding ourselves, we then went to Cup Noodles Museum!
