Day 5 – Imperial Palace Garden – Tokyo Disneyland
We had breakfast at Yoshinoya 🙂 Our delicious salmon and rice with miso soup warmed us up, and prepared us for the day.
Since we missed Imperial Palace Garden on our first day, we went there first thing after breakfast.
IMPERIAL PALACE GARDENS
It was actually a little sunny (yey, after how many days of rain), so we were in the mood for a lot of picture taking!
The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace were created as part of the renovation project of the Imperial Palace grounds.
This is located in the eastern part of the Imperial Palace grounds. Visitors can appreciate a variety of trees and flowers–rose garden, classical species orchards, big lawns, bamboo grove, and cherry blossoms island.
We also dropped by the Suwano-chaya Tea House, where we saw old Japanese men sitting in the park and trying to sketch the tea house and some parts of the garden.
and because it is longest sunny day we had so far, we had more pictures than normal (sorry, i have to include a lot of our selfies in this post! 🙂 )
After seeing the gardens, we headed to the train and get off to Maihama Station, the station of Disneyland! We arrived at around lunch.
TOKYO DISNEYLAND
When we got there, we have to choose between Disneyland and Disney Sea. Since I never experienced Disneyland at all, we chose this over Disney Sea. I’m a first-timer! 🙂
The first thing we did is line up to have a picture with Mickey Mouse! While in line, there a lot of characters that I was able to take a photo, because Jaycee is in line, no one could take pictures of me and the characters.
At the entrance:
It felt being a child again! The place was so child-friendly even to babies. Good thing it only drizzled, so the parades pushed through 🙂
Happy Holloween Harvest is a parade of Disney characters in unique costumes and colorful floats.
Happiness is Here is the parade of Disney characters with the theme of happiness is here 30th anniversary celebration.
Enjoying the attractions:
Minnie Mouse House:
So this is love…at Cinderella‘s place:
We also watched Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights, a spectacular night time parade. Since my camera cannot take pictures at night time, I just enjoyed the parade while eating a very yummy turkey leg!
Before going home, we also got to watch Happiness on High, the fireworks display at the later time of the night.
We went home with our cute Disney jackets (Jaycee’s gray mickey mouse, and mine is red minnie mouse). I actually wanted to buy a LOT of stuff at the Disney souvenir store. Good thing Jaycee kept on reminding me if I will be able to use all of those back in the Philippines (since I wanted to buy mostly warmers). At least I can use the jacket back home 🙂
After the fireworks, we decided that we can go home, thankful that unlike the previous days, it did not rain much that day! We were able to see all the shows and parade. It was a very happy day indeed 🙂
